Rev. Dr. Christie Knittel Mabry has 20+ years of experience in the various facets of Human Resource Development and Leadership Development. She has worked inside six different industries in a variety of leadership roles including financial services (GE Capital), software (SciQuest), higher education (former professor of HR and Director of Admissions at Peace College), supply chain management for the automotive aftermarket (GPI / CARQUEST), health care (Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC), and biotechnology (Biogen Idec).
Christie is currently the HR Leader for Biogen’s Global Manufacturing Operations around the world. She has HR oversight for North American and International Manufacturing (with two plants in RTP, one plant outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, and a 1.6 billion dollar plant that is being built in Solothurn, Switzerland), Global External Manufacturing, and Global Facilities. Prior to this, she led the Leadership Development efforts for Biogen where she and her team developed and ran all of the programs for high potential talent.
A published author in the field of Human Resource Development, Christie has presented her research at national and international research conferences. Christie is past president of the RTP Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD / ATD), the Triangle Organizational Development Network (TODN), and the Board of Trustees at the Unity Church of the Triangle.
She is a graduate of “Art and Practice of Leadership of Leadership Development” at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where she studied with Ron Heifetz and Marty Linsky on the topic of Adaptive Leadership. Christie received her Executive and Business Coaching Certification from Duke University’s Executive Coaching Program, and she is a Board Certified Coach (BCC). She is the 2011 winner of “Outstanding Alumnus” in her doctoral program at NC State. Christie is a 2015 graduate of One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, and she is an ordained Interfaith / Interspiritual Minister. She holds three degrees from North Carolina State University including a BA in Communication, and MA in Organizational Development, and a Doctorate in Adult Education / Human Resource Development. Her doctoral research focused on how Human Resource Development professionals negotiate power and conflicting interests in a complex, multi-national organization. She lives in Raleigh with her husband, Charles, and their four cats – Karma, Henry, Rose, and Roxie
